Enhance your stone-setting skills with this intensive weekend course, designed for jewellers seeking to advance their technical abilities. If you have experience with bezel and claw settings and are ready to progress to more intricate techniques, this course will provide the expertise and hands-on practice needed to master flush and pavé setting.
Course Overview
Under the guidance of a Master Goldsmith and Setter, participants will receive expert instruction, followed by dedicated practice time to refine their skills.
Day 1: Flush Setting
- Fabrication and maintenance of a flush setting tool
- Flush setting and finishing for round stones
- Flush setting and finishing for square stones
Day 2: Pavé Setting
- Preparation and maintenance of setting tools
- Pavé setting in a straight line
- Star setting techniques
This course offers a comprehensive understanding of intermediate-level stone setting, equipping participants with the skills to enhance both their design capabilities and technical proficiency. While the training is extensive, ongoing practice will be essential to fully master these techniques.
Who Should Attend?
This course is suitable for jewellers with a strong foundational knowledge of jewellery making. Participants should be proficient in fundamental techniques such as soldering, filing, and saw piercing. While prior experience with scorpers or gravers is beneficial, it is not essential.
Completion of Intro to Stone Setting (or an equivalent course) is highly recommended before taking this course. If you are unsure whether this course is the right fit for you, please contact us for guidance.
