Unlock new creative possibilities with wax carving!

This two-day course offers a hands-on introduction to wax carving—a versatile and cost-effective skill for any aspiring goldsmith. Wax carving allows for design and manufacturing techniques not possible with metal alone.

Who’s it for?
This course is ideal for those with a good grasp of basic jewellery-making skills (e.g., filing and saw piercing) but little or no experience in wax carving.

What will you learn?

Day 1: Technical Skills

• Carve a flat wedding band to precise measurements.
• Create a fitted wedding band using two different techniques.

Day 2: Creative Exploration

• Build up, correct mistakes, and experiment with granulation.
• Practice with a specific design and then unleash your creativity with your own design!

What do you need to bring?
A sketchbook for notes, glasses/optivisors if needed, and please tie back long hair. Wear closed-toe shoes and avoid loose clothing.

What’s provided?
All materials, tools, and your own dedicated workbench. You’re welcome to bring your own tools if preferred.

By the end of the course, you’ll gain a solid foundation in wax carving, ready to incorporate this valuable skill into your jewellery practice.

The course is held at our large , well equipped workshop above Siop iard in the centre of Caernarfon.
