A fantastic opportunity to learn how to design and create your own silver clay pendant and earrings with the maker of the 2023 National Eisteddfod crown, Elin Mair!
We’ll practice your design using polymer clay before moving on to work with Precious Metal Clay (PMC). PMC is a combination of organic binders, water, and microscopic recycled particles of silver. The clay is hand-formed into a shape and the desired texture added, before being dried, sanded, and then fired in a kiln. The firing process removes the binder and fuses the metal into a solid form.
You will learn how to roll, shape, condition, texture, and mould the clay in the morning. Following a break for lunch, which will allow the clay time to dry, we will file smooth and fire the pieces before polishing.
You will take a piece of finished silver clay jewellery home with you on the day!
